As we look ahead to November and reflect on the coming holiday, our team here at The Premier Property Group (PPG) recognizes that we have many reasons to be thankful. Not only are we celebrating 15 years as one of the top locally-owned, independent real estate firms in Northwest Florida, but we get to represent some of the most amazing clients and communities in the state and beyond.
Distillery movement reaches the Emerald Coast
The craft movement has been making its way across the Florida panhandle for some time now, mostly in the form of refreshing, one-of-a-kind beer brands. Offering a wide variety of tastes and flavors, locally-owned craft breweries thrive because most often, their beer simply tastes better than mass-produced alternatives.
Local mixologist aims to educate, demonstrate and collaborate
What cocktails are on the menu for your next event? Will one-of-a-kind libations inspire guest palettes? Will friends or family leave remembering the smooth, natural flavors of the wine served?
When it comes to parties and events, local mixologist Christine Tarpey says that all too often, the beverage experience takes a backseat to food—and it’s a considerable “miss” on the opportunity scale.
Spotlight on Bird Watching
Visitors may flock to the Emerald Coast for our sugar-sand beaches and unspoiled landscapes, but our unique natural resources extend far beyond coastlines and waterways. The Choctawhatchee Audubon Society calls our region the most biologically rich area in the U.S. in terms of the number of living creatures. From sea turtles to bottlenose dolphin to great blue herons, the species who pass through our area are plentiful and diverse.
Beyond the obvious beauty of the Emerald Coast, there’s a deeper, more elusive splendor situated less than a mile off the shores of Grayton Beach State Park. Recently showcased in Time’s famed Greatest Places of 2018, the Underwater Museum of Art (UMA) resides about 57 feet under the Gulf of Mexico’s emerald green waters, marrying the beauty of sculpture and the life-sustaining power of artificial reefs.
Distinctive experiences come in many shapes and sizes along the Emerald Coast. A feast for the senses, our region is home to stunning water views and lush natural surroundings, soft, sugar-white beaches, the smell of warm Gulf breezes and, of course, tastes that will delight even the most discriminating palate.
There is a lot to celebrate about The Premier Property Group’s (PPG’s) Thirty-One on 30A’s development. Namely, it’s the first gulf-front condominium project introduced along scenic Highway 30A in more than a decade, making it a rare find. Not only does the $70 million project encompass the most up-to-date, contemporary design elements, but it is state-of-the-art in terms of building codes and technological offerings when compared to neighboring luxury developments.
From Gulf-to-table to farm-to-table, the Emerald Coast is home to a wide array of locally-sourced, fresh food options that characterize the region’s celebrated cuisine. For those who like to get up close and personal with their food choices, U-pick farms exist that allow residents and visitors to harvest their own produce while making lasting memories.
Mardi Gras happenings along the Emerald Coast
Approximately five hours west of Florida’s Emerald Coast, the excitement is already building for New Orleans’ celebrated annual festival: Mardi Gras. Weeks of celebration will draw hundreds of thousands of people to the city for plenty of revelry that culminates in the main event on March 5th.
The centuries-old celebration derives its name from the French words meaning Fat Tuesday—a religious holiday that takes place the day before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent each year on the Christian calendar. To prepare for the traditional practice of fasting during Lent, people would “indulge their appetites”. Today, Mardi Gras is synonymous with colorful parades, feasting, imbibing and plenty of fun.
The right combination of sandy shoreline, sunshine and water is a sure bet for drawing healthy numbers of visitors and real estate buyers in many locales. Yet, savvy beach goers know there is something inherently special about the Emerald Coast.
An uncommon blend of sparkling emerald green waters and crystal white sand not only offer distinctive appeal to Premier Property Group neighborhoods, but this combination also continuously lands the Florida Panhandle in rankings for top beach destinations nationally and globally. While the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico speaks for itself, it’s the miles upon miles of snow white sand that truly sets the Emerald Coast apart for many coastal aficionados.
